CASTING CALL – LEAD ROLE – FICTION SHORT

Casting dates: 22nd + 23rd of November 

In the beginning of 2022 (est. February) we are going to shoot a short film with the working title “Wegen Hegel”.

We are looking for a young male of Chinese diaspora based in Baden-Württemberg as the lead role.

“Wegen Hegel” is going to be a “slice-of-life” of a Chinese Student who moved to Germany for his studies. Freshly arrived in Heidelberg, the first lockdown forces him to reflect on his past and present.

The project is directed by Chinese director and activist Popo Fan. Based in Berlin, he has worked on multiple queer and sex-positive films, be it feature documentaries or short fiction.

Produced by 70 Steps, a Stuttgart-based production company, we aim to shoot in the beginning of February 2022 in the city of Heidelberg. The film is funded by MFG Baden-Württemberg.

Age: 18-30

Language: German, Mandarin, English

No acting experience requested.

Due to the story preferably a student, based in Baden-Württemberg.
