Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has partnered closely with the MIDPOINT Institute as well as When East Meets West co-production market and Trieste Film Festival for years. In this edition, alongside the presentation of nine future length projects ready for co-production, there will also be four projects from the MIDPOINT – Intensive Queer This initiative is dedicated to promoting diversity in storytelling and offering support to filmmakers who explore queer narratives.

For the first time, Karlovy Vary IFF will host the Eurimages Co-production Development Award of 20,000 EUR for one of the projects in development presented within KVIFF Eastern Promises. Traditionally, the best project receives the Works in Development Award of 10,000 EUR.
